Chris Biscoe Profiles Of Mingus

Chris Biscoe (reeds) Pete Hurt (ts) Henry Lowther (t) Malcolm Earle Smith (tr) Kate Williams (p) Larry Bartley (b) Stu Butterfield (d)

Chris leads a septet inspired by the orchestral colour and spontaneous feel of Mingus’s small group music. Growing from workshop sessions in 1995, the band has developed an increasingly individual approach, exploring new directions while continuing to reflect the spirit of his music. Mingus Moves has built a national reputation through club and concert appearances.

“Uplifting, exuberant, rousing yet consistently intelligent music.” -Chris Parker, (The Times)
