Hi, I was lucky enough to see and hear your performance at the Stables last night, Tues. 3 April. Very enjoyable music throughout. The rest of the band were excellent, for me as a saxophone player Andy Panayi was the draw, but I was equally thrilled by Geoff Gascoigne on bass and the pianist (was it Leon Greening?). You all, seemed to be having a lot of fun. Allow me to assure you that we were too!

I would like to invite your band to perform at The Medicine Garden in Cobham at one of our events this year. Perhaps you could email me a contact name to send this info on to. Many thanks.

Lovely hearing and seeing you yesterday @ Cafe Posk. You got more solo space and clapps than anybody else. Well done.

I am just now listening to your CD "Orphans..."

Keep laying

We saw and heard the 100 Years of Jazz show at the Stables. It was the most enjoyable jazz concert I have been to in years. Everyone was a major star! The sheer versatility of Nick Dawson, of Enrico, Martin Williams, to name just some of the people who impressed me enormously. I am a jazz musician myself (Paul Munnery's Harlem for example) and I know we are hard to please. So please count your show as a triumph!

The Sussex Jazz Kings have now re-located to Redhill & Reigate golf club Pendleton Rd
Redhill RH1 6LB, known as The Lodge Jazz Club.
2nd & 4th Thursday each month.

Line up is the same, except for a change of trombone player, where Graham Wiseman replaces Len Baldwin.

Thoroughly enjoyed the festival. Particularly the line-up in Marquee 3. Ok, there were issues with toilets and sound technicians, but the programming was excellent. A particular favourite were the JJ Wheeler Quintet who opened the weekend with such an exciting, jam-packed programme of original writing. I'd only ever heard good things of these guys on the grapevine and I wasn't disappointed. Congratulations on such a great find to the festival organisers.

A little better known, yet still utterly brilliant were the Mike Janisch 'Purpose Built' band, who thrilled me from start to finish in a fashion similar to the aforementioned band.

Would definitely like to see both of these bands or certainly projects run by their leaders again at some point in the not-too-distant future.

Another great festival. Best yet, I'd say. Congratulations to all involved.
Re next year, I'd strongly request a slot for The Charleston Chasers, a ten piece I've watched all over the South of England in recent years. Sensational musicianship and delight to watch.
